2018 Brentwood Regional Community Chest Canned Food and Toy Drive

Event: More than 500 families from Brentwood, Byron, Discovery Bay, Knightsen and Bethel Island are presented with food (including a full holiday dinner) and age- appropriate presents for their children. This program is largely dependent on the generosity and support of individuals, families and businesses in our community.

Volunteer: Volunteers are needed and welcome for both the packing on Friday and the distribution on Saturday morning. Volunteers are needed throughout both days. Anything from volunteering the entire two days to a part of one day is welcome and appreciated. Families, clubs and teams often participate as a group. Board members are available to validate volunteer hours for students. Parents may bring children to help as long as they are supervised. It is not necessary to sign-up prior to volunteering.
Donate: Starting the second week of November, barrels and bins will be located throughout East County for donations of non-perishable food and new toys. Barrels are located at local banks, post offices, local businesses, Brentwood, Byron and Knightsen elementary and middle schools, as well as many other locations. All donations to the Community Chest stay in East County. Tax ID #94-73204667
Collect: Barrels are available for businesses. Please contact Jeff Schults at 925-890-8296 to see if a barrel can be set-up at your location. Barrels are delivered during the second week of November and collected prior to the packing event. Arrangements can be made to empty overflowing barrels in the interim.
