SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL
The School Site Council, composed of the principal, teachers, other school personnel, and parents, is a vehicle by which the school community comes together to chart the school’s path to improvement. The primary task of this council is to ensure that the school is continually engaged in identifying and implementing curriculum and instructional practices that result in strengthening the core academic program and ensuring that students have access to and success in that program. The council assists in identifying common goals and establishing a plan to achieve these goals.
The success of the SSC is dependent upon the ability and the willingness of all those involved in the process to work together in a cooperative manner to develop an effective curricular and instructional program so that all students may attain higher levels of academic competence.
The School Site Council needs your support and involvement. Members of the council serve a two year term. Parents are nominated and elected by the parent community when a vacancy occurs. At present we have four vacancies. If you would like to join the council, please indicate your name on the ballot below below as a candidate with a paragraph summary of your qualifications. The election will take place the week of September 6th.
Odyssey of the Mind Coaches Needed!
We are looking for adults who might be interested in learning more about coaching in the Odyssey of the Mind program. The Odyssey of the Mind program teaches students to learn creative problem-solving methods while having fun in the process. Coaches meet with their team once or twice a week between October and February up until the day of competition on March 4, 2017 at Adams Middle School.
The Odyssey of the Mind Program relies on volunteers as coaches. We will be holding a meeting with an experienced OM coach who will give details about the program and how to best organize and coach a team. If you would be interested in learning more about coaching a team, please contact Mrs. Peltz at 513-6360 ext. 2432 or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
