BOXTOPS!

We will have 4 Box Top collections this year, with small prizes going to the top 3 classes for each collection period. At the end of the year, the 3 classes accumulating the most Box Tops over the school year (up to April 20th), will be treated to otter pops in May!

Please turn in your students' Box Tops in a ziplock, CLEARLY MARKED WITH TEACHER NAME AND ROOM NUMBER.  Student names are not necessary.  Please remember that Box Tops must show a valid expiration date and code.  Unfortunately, expired Box Tops and those with a portion of the code missing are invalid and won't be included in class total.  Thanks for your help in bringing Box Tops!!  To conserve paper, we will not be sending home fliers, but will include reminders on the website and Bulldog News emails.

Measure B Update

4th Annual Turkey Trot

JOIN US FOR THE  4th  ANNUAL BRENTWOOD TURKEY TROT FOR SCHOOLS. 

  • WHAT:  10K & 5K run – great for the whole family!  NEW AND IMPROVED 5K ROUTE THIS YEAR!
  • WHEN:  Thanksgiving morning at 8:00 AM 
  • WHERE:  Both courses begin and end at The Streets of Brentwood.
  • WHY:  All proceeds benefit the athletic programs at both the Brentwood and Liberty school districts. Look for new materials/resources being used by kids in PE and sports teams all around the district! We had 1,510 participants last year and raised $20,000 for BUSD, $20,000 for LUHSD and we hope to raise even more this year.  All funds go to support the athletic programs at both districts.Brentwood Rotary serving up pancakes after the race and DJ, booths from sponsors and lots of good people coming together for a good cause!

School Site Council

School Site Council Congratulations

The School Site Council is a vehicle by which the school and the community come together to chart the school’s path to improvement.  It is made up of parents, community members, and staff.  The major responsibilities of the committee are to: keep abreast of improvement programs and student progress, assist in developing a school plan, serve as a parent/staff communication group and develop a budget that reflects plan needs. 

We welcome our newly elected SSC parent members:  Lizandra Gutierrez and Jennifer Kreisel

They join returning members Blythe Lind, Clif Mathews and Sridhar Kidambi

Thank you to all that volunteered to be nominated and be part of the election. 

Our first meeting will be Monday September 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM in room 7.

El Consejo Escolar es un vehículo por el cual la escuela y la comunidad se juntan para trazar el camino de la escuela hacia la mejora. Está compuesto por padres, miembros de la comunidad y personal. Las principales responsabilidades del comité son: mantenerse al tanto de los programas de mejoramiento y progreso de los estudiantes, asistir en el desarrollo de un plan escolar, servir como grupo de comunicación de padres / personal y desarrollar un presupuesto que refleje las necesidades del plan.

Dear Parents,

If you have not turned in a current 2017-2018 application for the Free/Reduced Meal Program for your child/children.  Please get it turned in.

If we do not receive a new application before last year’s eligibility expires, your child will be placed on full pay status beginning on Monday, September 11, 2017.

Your child will need to pay $1.75 for Breakfast and $3.00 Elem /$3.25 MS for lunch.  You will be responsible for all meals charged unless

your child’s school cafeteria is notified by you that you do not want your child to charge meals. Only one application per family is needed. 

Make sure you list all children and adults in the family on the application and the adult’s monthly income or a benefits case number.

Attendance Helpers

Attendance

Please call the attendance line every time your student is absent at 513-6361. Please include student's name, your name, teacher's name, dates and reason for absence.  Thank you!

When you plan to be absent for 5 or more days:

Site-Based Independent Study - When a student will be absent for 5 or more days, an application (see SBIS forms under Helpful Forms) for Site-Based Independent Study may be filled-out and submitted to the front office no less than five days prior to the planned absence. Once approved, the student's teacher will prepare assignments to be completed during the absence. The assignments are due back to the teacher on the first day back to school after the planned absence. The student will receive full academic and attendance credit for all work completed.
